A little more about the artist...

Nomi Jewelry began over fifteen years ago with the creative ingenuity of Nomi Green. She found her passion in hand-crafting sterling silver jewelry with meaningful designs. "My jewelry designs come from energies that I cherish, from artifacts of the past that link us to the future," she says. Museums and galleries across the United States and Canada carry her work. Nomi has also been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle Arts Magazine, Southwest Art, and many other publications.

Nomi grew up in Cleveland, Ohio before earning a BA at Hampshire College and an MA from Southwestern College. She currently lives in Sante Fe, New Mexico with her family. Nomi sold her first piece of art in middle school after a teacher approached her at a school show and asked to buy her still life painting. It was love at first sale for Nomi as she says, "I was hooked making art and getting paid for it." Her passion continued into her adulthood as she was hired as a production manager for a large jewelry company. During this time she took advice and learned new techniques from the wide variety of artists with whom she was exposed. After one final job at another jewelry company, Nomi decided the time had come to venture out on her own.

"My desire is to bring into being work that inspires people to be alive, creative, and generous in their daily lives," Nomi maintains. Her inspirations include "strong women, the earth and antiquity, and the spirit of times and civilizations past." She started out working with figurative images carved in wax and cast in sterling. These sterling images would then be accompanied by cards explaining their historical and spiritual inspirations. "After some time I decided that I wanted to create work that actually inspired people to be better human beings, so over a dozen years ago I started putting words into the pieces," Nomi relates.

Each and every piece is fabricated by hand using a wide variety of techniques including forging, fabricating, and stamping. They are created with sterling, rather than gold, so that they are more affordable and also more readily available to the general public. Unique, and certainly one of a kind, Nomi’s jewelry reaches a new level of both beauty and spirituality.
