The term “antiquities,” generally used in the plural, is a term defining objects from Antiquity, from the distant past. This term especially applies to the Mediterranean civilizations. These are the Ccassical antiquities of Greece & Rome, Ancient Egypt and other Ancient Near Eastern cultures.
